Microsoft Essay Paper Example For Students

Microsoft Essay Paper infringement. In October of this current year, the administration at last requested that an appointed authority request Microsoft to quit requiring PC creators to incorporate Internet Explorer when they introduce Windows 95 in their PCs. Lawyer General, Janet Reno, who alluded to the organization as an imposing business model a few times in her question and answer session, asserted that the organization had abused the 1994 settlement, and that the Justice Department would look for a $1 million every day fine on the off chance that they didn’t stop the training. She stated, This organization has taken extraordinary endeavors to spike mechanical development, advance rivalry and ensure that the purchasers can pick among contending items. This} activity shows that we won’t endure any compulsion by prevailing organizations in any capacity that contorts rivalry. (Labaton 2) The government’s request looks for a request that would banish Microsoft from convincing PC makers to acknowledge their program as a state of accepting the OS, Windows 95. We will compose a custom exposition on Microsoft Paper explicitly for you for just $16.38 $13.9/page Request now It likewise requests that the court request the organization to advise Windows 95 clients that they can utilize any perfect Internet Browser, just as give guidelines on the most proficient method to expel Internet Explorer from their PC. Because of the request, Bill Gates, Microsoft’s director and CEO, said that his organization was not abusing the antitrust understanding. He declared his conviction that his organization reserved each option to improve and add to the essential highlights of the Windows OS. He proceeded to state that he wanted to additionally improve Windows by including new abilities, for example, discourse acknowledgment and machine vision, to it. The Justice Department has a few key issues that it needs to manage for its situation against Microsoft. By manage, I mean they need to find around Microsoft’s solutions to their charges. To start with, the division is blaming the organization for compromising PC producers who erase the Internet Explorer symbol. The organization answers this by asserting that â€Å"†¦computer makers are allowed to dispatch any contender item they wish, however they are not permitted to handicap highlights of our products,† (Just Dept v MS 2). Second, the legislature is fighting that the terms of Microsoft’s non-exposure understandings are an impediment in the method of their endeavors to accumulate proof for their examination. Microsoft says that their non-divulgence understandings are the same than those of most organizations inside the product business, just as outside it. At long last, there is the matter of the serious program conceivably speaking to a danger to Microsoft’s key item, its working framework. Organization authorities guarantee that by not permitting them to incorporate their program with Windows, the administration is forestalling advancement. They state that the pace of the opposition will rapidly pound an organization that quits developing, and that the customers win since rivalry drives firms to convey better items at lower costs. Fundamentally, Microsoft is asserting that by not permitting them to incorporate the program, the administration is smothering the opposition that it is attempting to secure. Orin Hatch, executive of the Senate Judiciary Committee, held the first of what he guaranteed would be a few hearings on the Microsoft antitrust request in the primary seven day stretch of November. At this consultation, the Senator created an eliteness understanding among Microsoft and Earthlink Network, Inc. It called for Earthlink to offer just Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and forbids them from inferring that another program is accessible. â€Å"’What you have presented gives off an impression of being a great case of a fake section hindrance. It isn't intended to upgrade the item. It is structured just to stumble the competitor’ said Kevin Arquit (previous general direction of the Federal Trade Commission),† (Clausing†¦Senator). .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 , .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 .postImageUrl , .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 .focused content region { min-stature: 80px; position: relative; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 , .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469:hover , .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469:visited , .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469:active { border:0!important; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 { show: square; change: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-progress: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; haziness: 1; progress: murkiness 250ms; webkit-progress: darkness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469:active , .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469:hover { mistiness: 1; change: obscurity 250ms; webkit-progress: obscurity 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 .focused content territory { width: 100%; position: re lative; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 .ctaText { fringe base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: striking; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; text-beautification: underline; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; outskirt: none; outskirt span: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; textual style weight: intense; line-tallness: 26px; moz-fringe sweep: 3px; text-adjust: focus; text-enrichment: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-tallness: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/straightforward arrow.png)no-rehash; position: total; right: 0; top: 0; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u2db920 3a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469 .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u2db9203a2407eb58eb30119eec5d6469:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Decision To Fund The Atomic Bomb Essay Since the meeting, Microsoft has requested that an administrative adjudicator toss the government’s appeal out. They recorded their reaction to the Justice Departments charges with Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson (a similar appointed authority that marked the antitrust settlement two years sooner). The organization is asserting that the government’s case is without base, is improbable and is a corruption of reality. As indicated by what their cases, the first declaration permits them to create coordinated items. The reaction likewise guarantees that the organization â€Å"†¦realized well before Netscape was even an organization that Microsoft expected to manufacture this sort of usefulness into Windows for consumers,† (Clausing†¦Microsoft 2). Netscape was established in 1994. The principal form of Internet Explorer wasn’t discharged until July of 95, and that was a restricted beta adaptation. Where does the entirety of this leave us? Do any of these charges have merit? Is this product goliath a syndication? Assuming this is the case, how are we going to be influenced by it? At the hour of this exposition, no answers have been given to the inquiries delivered by the government’s charges. Notwithstanding, it is my conviction that Microsoft has met all the prerequisites important for the antitrust laws to be actualized. The shoppers are needing security. This organization has achieved in excess of a predominant portion of all divisions of the product markets. It has converged with numerous littler organizations; it has attached their items to each other, and is about as vertically incorporated as one could envision inside the setting of the product business. This organization apparently makes a special effort to dispense with rivalry and square section to the market. Shoppers endure in light of this organization and its practices, and I think ample opportunity has already past that the administration steps in and permits the antitrust laws to fill their need. Hacking, Defense Against DoS Attack free essay sample

A DDoS assault against the Universities Registration System Server (RSS) by contaminated PCs (Bots) situated in the University Computer Labs (see outline) brought about closing down access to the RSS framework. Organized and constrained by a focal controller these Bots built up web associations (HTTP convention) to the RSS spending all accessible transmission capacity. Doing so kept different clients from getting to the Web website/server for authentic traffic during the assault. This is viewed as a Consumption of Resources assault spending all the assets of RSS transmission capacity. This outline will deliver measure to counter this sort of DoS assault. (Specht, S. M. , Lee, R. B. (2004)) Measures to counter a DoS assault can be separated into two sorts; In-Depth Defense and Countermeasures. Gadgets, for example, Routers and Proxy Firewalls are intended to shield against assaults from outside not inside the defensive limits of the University’s organize. The utilization of exceptional antivirus programming on all system PCs, an Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS) to screen arrange traffic, and a host-based IDPS (nearby PC firewall) are suggested. Calamity Recovery techniques as well as Checklists should be made and followed by IT staff during the assault stage. Utilizing the idea of In-Depth Defense incorporates the accompanying; Principle of Least Privilege, Bandwidth Limitation, and Effective Patch Management (EPM). To lessen danger of assault the utilization of Microsoft’s Active Directory (AD) Rights Management (RM) to dole out clients minimal measure of benefits important to work on the system. This would forestall maverick (Virus or Trojan) programming establishments that could prompt Bot bargains and DDoS assaults. Restricting the transfer speed or setting transmission capacity tops could assist with lessening the impacts of DDoS assaults by diminishing the measure of information any single PC can utilize. Much like how Internet Service Providers (ISPs) limit the measure of traffic by any one client to get to the Internet. The utilization of computerized fix the executives, Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to keep PCs appropriately refreshed and fixed is fundamental. EPM diminishes the danger of assaults by decreasing the vulnerabilities because of know shortcomings in applications and Operating Systems (OSs). A midway overseen Host Based IDPS or Host Based Security System LOT2_Task1. docx (HBSS) to review and report on PC frameworks protects against known assaults. HBSS permits the administration of nearby PC firewall designs to recognize and perhaps shut down contaminated PCs during an assault. The utilization of AD, SCCM, and HBSS consolidate to lessen the probability of an assault and give important data during the assault and post-assault stages. Countermeasures to inner system DDoS assaults comprise of recognition, balance, anticipation of extra assaults, redirection, and post-assault crime scene investigation. In the present system plan an IDPS can caution arrange heads of potential issue location and square mark based (known) assaults to help in the relief procedure. Utilization of HBSS and Network IDPS permits managers to close down administrations during an assault to kill assaults. The catch of Traffic Patterns put away during DDoS assaults can be utilized for measurable investigates post-assault. Burden Balancing expands approaching traffic levels during top long periods of activities and during DDoS assaults. Legitimate arrangement of burden adjusting of system gadgets, administrations, and servers will diminish impacts of a DDoS assault. (Householder, A. , Manion, A. , Pesante, L. , Weaver, G. , Thomas, R. When expelled from the system the Bot application can be expelled from the PC. On the off chance that evacuation is unimaginable or powerful a standard establishment of the Operating System is required. With the utilization of In-Depth Defense and Countermeasures DDoS harm can be essentially decreased. Cautious advances incorporate; client account best practices, successful application fixing process, current infection definitions use, appropriately designed host-based firewall rules, dynamic system checks for peculiarities by IDPS are viable apparatuses against DDoS. Recognizing, closing down, and forestalling extra flare-ups of contaminated PCs best practices must be archived. Instruction of Users and IT staff assists with decreasing the underlying drivers of DDoS assaults by diminishing Bots contaminations. Apparatuses, for example, AD, SCCM, and IDS utilized appropriately can help recognize and plan an impact guard against these assaults. Progression in History Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Movement ever - Essay Example We have nearly everything at the tip of fingers. The utilization of science and innovation has made entryways for us to find a ton of things, as in the field of examination wherein we currently have propelled apparatuses that can reproduce shot effects or match DNA just from a solitary hair strand or even only a little bit of skin. Advanced imaging help reproduce faces from the skulls covered quite a while in the past and exhumed days prior. We have gone far as far as science and innovation however have we advanced or have we quite recently adjusted to the occasions? Through this paper, I try to ponder whether there is human movement or just adjustment. The various periods in time, from the Old Age to the Modern time, gives us that people are seeking after various territories of improvement. We have development, expressions and culture, science and innovation and even political territory. The various periods in time give us a brief look on how human life has moved starting with one m easurement then onto the next. So is there advance or do we relapse every once in a while that’s why we glance back at history and rediscover things? The Machiavellian idea of human advancement is related with the fixed human instinct, that human instinct is outfitted towards change and improvement as a result of want and desire (Gutfreund, 208). With this, Machiavelli sees improvement as an objective, a final product that moves towards man’s aspiration and want to turn out to be better and all the more remarkable. This demonstrates human advancement isn't fixed as opposed with an impact of the human fixed on it nature (Lemon, 105). For Machiavelli, there is no genuine advancement in mankind's history, rather, there is a consistent encounter, by which, we learn, develop, and move towards our aspiration and want. There is nothing of the sort as importance ever, just learning, as human encounters are guided by human instinct, an unmistakable articulation that demonstrate s that progress is non-existent and what people experience are their normal conceived senses. This is mostly what I for one accept as human advancement. That it is related with human instinct. Be that as it may, I don’t concur with Machiavelli that human instinct is fixed and constant towards want and aspiration. In light of understanding and learning, people create, develop and change. For me, progress intends to improve. It implies advancement and improvement. In any case, it is more than that, progress is a mix of soundness, change and development. With this, I concur with Luther’s idea of progress and its connection to a battle. For Luther, progress is an objective towards equity, by which people need to forfeit and to endure before having the option to arrive at it (Paulson, 90). Luther’s progress is an objective towards equity and fairness. His advancement is optimistic. With this, it repudiates with my conviction that progress is related with human instin ct. Human instinct isn't optimistic. It has imperfections, that’s why people need to think back and comprehend the past and utilize these learnings so as to move towards movement. In any case, human’s are not great and perfect, that’s why we generally relapse to old propensities and commit similar errors. Progress, at that point, is a persistent battle, yet not to Luther’s objective of equity and fairness, however to human’s want to turn out to be better. Bacon’s faith in the thought of progress made a thought that innovative headway is related to advance (Attar, 70). For him, science and innovation are the way to control nature, that people can

Social Interaction For Children With Autism - 3206 Words

Most children have a hard enough time fitting in and building friendships. Social interaction for children with autism can be even more difficult (Burrows, 2008). For several of these children having a companion dog can make all the difference. Dogs like any other animal will not judge a child; they do not care how popular a child is or how they look or even how he or she forms sentences. The continuous companionship and friendship of such a devoted creature can help a child with autism build confidence (Beaumont, 2008). Companion dogs accompany their partner to doctor s appointments, restaurants, sporting events, and other public places. The only place the companion animal will not attend is school (Beaumont, 2008). Many children who have a hard time coping with change find that having a constant companion can help them deal with transitions from place to place and can add a bit of consistency to each day. In this respect, the dog serves as a focal point for the child (Heward, 2006). Defining Autism Spectrum Disorder According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) is a developmental disability characterised by impaired social functioning and communication skills (Burrows, 2008). Usefulness Of total Quality Management-Free-Samples for Students

Question: Explores the effectiveness and usefulness ofTotal Quality management and The High Performance Work Organisation in both manufacturing as well as service sector. Answer: Any business organisation operates under two business environments; internal and external. Where thefactors of the internal business environment is under the control of the organisation, the external environment factors such as political aspect, societal aspect, technological upgrade as well as the economic conditions of the country of operation are not under the control of the organisation (Skogland and Hansen2017). Therefore, to keep up and maintain the position in the market business organisations need to evolve and change. Changes in the organisation face resistance from the people who are associated with the company because the future anticipation and the change of the comfort can be reasons for resistance. Change management depends on the efficiency of the management of the organisation. Employees and staff members should be motivated and encouraged to accept changes, not only that the company should employee policies and regulations so that the change is easily adaptable (Skog land and Hansen2017). For example: if an organisation has though of upgrading the technology they have been using to keep up with the heavy manufacturing process, the employees who work in the factories have to taught the new technology in order to help them adapt to the new process easily. This essay explores the effectiveness and usefulness ofTotal Quality management and The High Performance Work Organisation in both manufacturing as well as service sector. Total quality management or TQM is one of the most popular change tools to be implemented by an organisation to improve the quality of the product or service that the company is offering its target market (Sachdeva 2015). Product or service quality is important as that determines the future position of the company in the market. TQM is an approach taken by the management of the organisation to not only meet but also to positively exceed the expectations of the customers. This is a consumer centric approach as the importance is given to the utility and requirement of the consumers which in turn results in sales and profit maximization. For organisation that have building valuable relationship with the customers as one of the major objectives, TQM prove to be an approach that is reliable (Sachdeva 2015). The process concentrates on the internal environment of the company so that the quality of the output that is derives matches up to the expectation of the customers. TQM is not a quick fix to an issue it is a long term process and the outcome of the results show after a prolonged usage of the principles of the approach. At the initial phase of the implementation of the process it may seem to be a waste of time, money and effort but if the process is strategized and implemented in a planned and organized manner it results in stark difference. Implementation of TQM is a continuous process to improve the operation of the business in order to incorporate new information and knowledge there are gathered over the years (Sachdeva 2015). Here are some principles that make the fundamentals of this process: The process is consumer-centric and focuses on the needs and the requirements of the consumers; the quality of the product is based on the requirements of the customers of the business and the organisation should strive to achieve improved quality. The customers are also responsible for examining the worth of the quality. The approach is initiated form the executive managerial level, the management is responsible for implementing the changes and ensuring that the work environment is such that the initiative is successful (Lus and Major 2016). TQM requires all the employees to be equally involved in the process of improvement, this can be achieved with the help of the management and policies to help the employees adapt to the changes and ensuring that the work environment is such that people can strive towards excellence and high-performance. TQM is an integrated process and involves improvement in every aspect of the business operation. In not only includes all the vertical operations of the business it also incorporates the improvement of the horizontal functions.Another most important aspect of this approach is that it is a continuous process and involves a long term investment to identify any changes in the outcome. There are set methodologies and tools which can be implemented by the organisation based on the requirement and the scale of business in order to achieve maximum output(Lus and Major 2016). The high performance work organisation can be called as a scientifically designed conceptual framework that is developed to ensure that the best performance is delivered by the people of the organisation. This framework helps the management of the organisation in deciding and identifying the barriers which is keeping the people from achieving high efficiency in the performance. The success or failure of an organisation is directly impacted by the performance level of the employees. Specialization and standardization play an important role in the framework, to maximize the level of performance and productivity. An organisation that has implemented the principles of high performance workplace concentrates on human resource and their impact on the proceedings of the business (Andr and Heijtel2017).Some of the important features of this approach are: flat hierarchical organisational structure which ensures the involvement of lower-level employees in decision-making, multi-tasking as well as specializing, responsible and motivated teams as well as individual workers. As the approach is Human resource centric the organisation invests in the supports of learning and developing skills and expertise. Technical, creativeas well as communication and social skills are paid attention in the process of learning and development, this approach provides opportunities for the employees of the organisation to grow and expand their career as well. The approach promotes and encourages healthy interpersonal relationship among the workers as well as in between the management and the staff members of the organisation so that grievances and issues of the people which is the greatest hindrance to high performance areresolved. The outcome of this approach is that the performance of the employee ensures the output of the organisation is of improved form. As innovation plays an important part of the approach it ensures that the process will include procedures that is new and of improved qu ality(Aakanksha 2014). Business organisations provide either product or services to the target market in order to earn revenue and keep the cash flowing in the business. An organisation that operates in the product industry manufactures the product in order to make it available for the customers for example any electronic or FMCG products, on the other hand the business enterprises that operate in the service industry like tourism and health care provide the consumers with services in exchange for money. Similarities between manufacturing and service operations are: achieving valuable relation with the consumers, a process of inputs and outputs are involved in a business enterprise weather it is service or goods operations. Use of technology is also a common aspect of the operations, structure of the upper level management remains the same. Some of the differences on the operation are: the approach is different; service industry is more associated with the people whereas product industry is based on the product itself; one of the most obvious differences is the tangible aspect of the output. Customization vs. Standardization is another point of difference, a product is manufactured in the factory in bulk and those are send to be sold to the customers, the products from a company are standardized and similar and cannot be changed according to the preference of each customer, where as the services are customizable in nature for example: the service of a doctor depends on the ailment and the intensity of the issue. Application of TQM in the manufacturing industryincludes understanding of the requirement o the customers and then manipulating the existing product as per the expectation of the customers. As the product is the center of focus of the image of the company and the reputation in the market TQM implementation helps in further improving the goodwill by ensuring to provide the customers with best quality at the most reasonable price. Companies can employee quality managers and quality checkers before sending a batch to the market some of the tools that a manufacturing company can employee are lean production, six sigma, learning and development programs etc (Mohammad Mosadeghrad 2014). The main advantage of implementation of this process is that it brings out the shortcomings in the product and the manufacturing process, if that is eliminated the company can strive to achieve an edge over the competitors. The most important drawback of the approach is that it will not fix any issue immedi ately hence if the company is facing a specific trouble then the management cannot think of implementing TQM and solving it, it is a long term process(Mohammad Mosadeghrad 2014). In the service industry application of TQM is different from that of an organisation that is involved in the manufacturing industry. The implementation of this approach and its effect depend mostly on the capabilities of top management of the companyit is impacted by how the managers adopt and adapt its principles and guidelines in the services that are offered to the customers. According to Ali (2013), some of the common obstacles of TQM implementation in the service sectors are: the disparities in between the management and the interest of the employees, deficiency of a quality-oriented work environment and work culture, insufficient training, and lack of proper resources etc. The advantage of implementing TQM is same as of the manufacturing sector: improved consumer satisfaction, increased consumer loyalty etc.(Al Nahyan and Abdel All 2017). Implementation of the high performance work organisation in the manufacturing sector involves focusing on the productivity of the employees, the approach does not only concentrate on the level of productivity it judges the performance of the employee on the basis of production and quality. The human resource department of the organisation plays an important part in this approach, as the performance of the employees is managed and is kept record of by the HRD. In manufacturing units technology play an important role hence the company must ensure that the people are well versed with the technology that is being used so that they can improve their efficiency. In order to support the performance of the employees the management have to react quickly to the changes in the business environment (Jeevan and Rani 2017). Material requirement planning, supply chain management etc are some of the tools that the company can employee. The high performance organisation framework can be implemented t o recognizeandanalyze the aspects of the companywhich need to be worked upon in order to become a HPO. The shortcoming of this process is that it depends not only on the employees but also on the management, if the quality of the management is not up to the mark the process may not be successful (Andr and Goedegebuure 2017). In the service sector, the performance of the people associated with the company is the most important aspect. For example: the efficiency and the work of the beauticians of a beauty parlor are the most important to ensure loyal customers, goodwill and reputation and in turn consistent flow of revenue. According to Andr (2017), Learning and skill development are the most important aspect of this approach especially for the service sector. Motivation and encouragement from the management play an important role in the process of attaining high level of performance by the staff members. The major advantage of this approach is that it ensures career development opportunities for the employees (Andr 2017). It can be concluded from the above discussion that both TQM and The high performance work organisation are process which can be implemented in both the manufacturing and service sectors. Change in an organisation is important to ensure that the company is in sync with the changing factors of the external business environment. It has been identified that both the process is not a tool that can solve an issue quickly rather both a long term procedures and implementation of which will ensure good reputation, competitive advantage, customer satisfaction, employee retention etc. TQM is a more complex process that High performance work organisation as TQM is a holistic approach and HPO is a process that focuses on the people associated with the organisation. Immigration to the United States free essay sample

The effects that immigration has on the United States are limitless. There have been endless debates over these effects since as early as the colonial times. The economic, fiscal and demographic effects are three major topics that tend to rule these debates. Regardless on someone’s political view of immigration, everyone should realize how it has and is shaping the United States today. Based on both positive and negative essays on immigration by Roberto Rodriguez and Star Parker, one can conclude that immigration is good, but should be limited. The economic, fiscal and demographic effects are three major topics that tend to rule the debates on immigration and its laws. Rodriguez points out in his essay â€Å"The border on our backs† that Mexicans and Central Americans are targeted by shameless politicians. These politicians target groups based on statistics that show crime rates, productivity and gain. Parker states in her essay â€Å"Se habla entitlement† that latino immigrants are responsible for most of the gang activity, but fails to say whether it is positive or negative activities. Sampson, chairman of the sociology department at Harvard. A year ago, Sampson was an author of an article in The American Journal of Public Health that Combs, Page 2 reported the findings of a detailed study of crime in Chicago. Based on information gathered on the perpetrators of more than 3,000 violent acts committed between 1995 and 2002, supplemented by police records and community surveys, it found that the rate of violence among Mexican-Americans was significantly lower than among both non-Hispanic whites and blacks. Based on studies like the one Sampson conducted, immigrants, both legal and illegal do not raise the rate of crime in the United States and native born Americans are five times more likely to be incarcerated than immigrants. In a study released by the non-partisan research group The Public Policy Institute of California immigrants (legal and illegal) were ten times less likely to be incarcerated than native born Americans. Based on these views immigration is actually keeping the Unites States crime rates lower. According to the Rodriguez Mexican-Americans face the dilemma of racism, every person with half of a brain knows that racial tensions are high in the United States, and this is not limited to Mexican-American or Mexican immigrants. Racism applies to all people, it does not matter what race you are; you could be white, black, brown, or yellow and some person would have problems with your race or have some sort of unspoken prejudice against you. Rodriguez states on paragraph 11 of his essay that â€Å"Through all this, we’ve been baited into fighting with African Americans, American Indians, Asians, Mexican Americans, and poor and white middle class workers – because Mexicans supposedly steal their jobs and are ruining the quality of life. † Many Combs Page 3 Mexicans are working at places for a substandard rate, especially the immigrants who are illegal. With the illegal immigrant the employer does not have to pay them employees the same as everyone else because the labor laws do not apply to them, they are illegal workers. Not only do we have this problem in bordering states to other countries, but in labor work all over the country. The problem lies with both American people and immigrants, legal or illegal. When discussing the job market many of us Americans will not do the job because it is too hard of work, or the pay is not that great, but the immigrants are more than happy to do the work because they need the money. According to Rodriguez Mexican-Americans also suffer from some sort of environmental justice issues. Mexican-American constitute a large group of people that are impoverished and poorly educated, which in turn leads to living in areas that are less than more affluent Americans. Mexican-Americans have definitely been affected by affirmative action, but so has every other race in the United States. Affirmative action is good in theory, but the law in itself is a form of prejudice against better qualifies applicants at jobs and at colleges. Mexican-American and other minorities were also affected by banking practices and even just going to the supermarket. Some banks will loan money to lower income Caucasians, but not to the same type of income to a Hispanic family. Rodriguez writes about the draconian immigrations bills and the wall that the government wants to build, but not the cost. While were spending millions of dollars trying to keep illegal immigrants out of our country by putting up state of the art fences Combs, Page 4 hat don’t work and increasing â€Å"border security† that doesn’t seem to make a difference. Probably thousands of people are being murdered, raped and forced into prostitution and slavery in their attempt at getting into the United States. Since 1993, the amount of money spent each year by the federal government for border enforcement has more than quintupled according to the U. S customs and border patrol fiscal report of 2010 from $740 million to $3. 8 billion most of which is being spent on the Mexican border. Think of what our country could do for immigrants with $3. billion dollars. If we took all the money that we are wasting on increasing our Mexican border patrol and instead turned that helping people who have immigrated get a good education think of the difference that it could make. Many people argue that the newly Mexican emigrated people to this country are taking up jobs that could be taken by Americans in our shrinking job economy but the reality is that our economy continues to create opportunities for low-skilled workers while the pool of Americans willing to fill these jobs continues to shrink. Americans are becoming increasingly more focused on secondary education and depend less of the low-skilled jobs that our parents and grandparents were forced into taking decades ago. If it sounds to you like were forcing Mexican emigrated people to take the low-skilled jobs that we don’t want then you are thinking correctly. Similar to what was mentioned earlier in this paper our government is ignoring the call to providing education for Mexican immigrants and instead is gladly allowing them to take the unwanted jobs in this country. Combs, Page 5 We aren’t the only country that is has a large political debate when referring to immigration. In fact the very country that we’re trying to stop people from immigrating from has almost just as many illegal immigrants in its country, Mexico. According to the Mexico’s equivalent to the U. S Census Bureau, in the first six months of 2005 alone more than 120,000 people from Central America have been deported to their countries of origin. This is a significantly higher rate than in 2002, when for the entire year, only 130,000 people were deported. Sound familiar? It’s even been estimated that there are so many illegal immigrants in Russia that the Chinese may become the dominant ethnic group in Russia within the next twenty years. Russia, Mexico and the United States of America all share the same common underlying theme with illegal immigration; they are all spending too much government funded money on trying to keep out all these people instead of helping them get a proper education once they get to their country. Regardless if one agrees with Roberto Rodriguez ancestral rights or with Star Parker false sense of entitlements, it is obvious in today’s politics that immigration, legal or illegal, has proven to be a very significant topic in this year’s election. Whether it is within our own country or somewhere halfway around the world everyone is ignoring what should be done with the millions of illegal immigrants that, instead of improving their lives, have become a part of a horrible system that is solely focused on sending them back to the country that they came from. Regardless of your political views it’s important to realize that the very country that you live in was founded upon immigrants who came from countries all over the world in search of a better life. The United States of America always has and will hopefully continue to be the â€Å"land of opportunity† to Combs, Page 6 those who seek a better change in their life and it is my hope that we will support those who choose to find that opportunity in our country. One can see that limited immigration is good based on the good and bad results immigration has on the economical, fiscal, and demographic positions of the United States. The positive and negative effects that immigration in general and workers have on the economy cancel each other out. Many factors influence the United States fiscal situation, including age, causing the federal fiscal level to generally be positive, while the state level is normally negative. The fact that so many factors influence the fiscal situation proves that one can never determine whether immigration has a good r bad effect on the United States. The increase in population caused by immigration is also causing both good and bad problems in the United States, causing some people to feel threatened, while others feel a sense of togetherness. Without immigration the United States would not be what it is today. Almost everything in life has both good and bad qualities, but with a little regulation and control they can turn out to be positive. Immigration is one of those instances in life where with a little regulation immigration can be a great push towards a better future. Immigration to the United States free essay sample Therefore some judge that immigration is a threat to the U. S. They should not consider that because everything that occurs is not due to immigrants. The government can stop illegal immigration right now but would it not affect the U. S. more to do so? Restrictionists claim that large-scale immigration-legal and illegal-has depressed wages, burdened government resources, and acted as a net drain on the economy. Thus, if immigration was eliminated, the U. S. would have fewer workers. With a reduction of workers, money would be less therefore, causing the economy to plunge. People come to the U. S. to work and make a living, why would the government want to stop that? â€Å"If Americans would simply cut their own grass, clean their own houses, and care for their own children, there would be no need for immigrant labors†. But even if this were true, the overall economy would hardly benefit from having fewer workers. We will write a custom essay sample on Immigration to the United States or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Without immigrants, the economy would not flow smoothly because the workers make the jobs and economy better. Third world immigration is not a threat to America’s way of life because immigrants work, immigrants participate. Immigrants that come into the U. S. are not coming to harm anyone; they come to work and make a living. Hispanics and other races usually want to find a job and the U. S. has good quality jobs. Despite the presence in our workforce of millions of illegal immigrants, the U. S. is currently creating slightly more than two million jobs a year and boasts an unemployment rate of 4. 7 percent, which is lower than average in each of the past four decades. Therefore, the U. S. onsisted of several illegal immigrants that worked. That shows that they’ve done no harm. Just worked and made a living a majority of the time. They are good workers and as the U. S. generate more than two million jobs each year, the population of immigrant’s increases. It increases because the jobs increase thus, more immigrants come to the U. S. and work. The more people work, the mor e new jobs are prepared and the better the economy gets. â€Å"Just as important, they possess a strong desire to work†. If all immigrants were not allowed to cross the border, who would help enhance the work force? Researchers show that immigrants have a high rate for working which shows how much help they are. Immigrants also participate more than the average Americans. They are mostly positive about what they do that is why there is a positive effect in their participation. Moreover, the participation of immigrants in the labor force has had obvious positive effects. Immigrants produced goods that went to household spending in the U. S. Most services were also produced by immigrants ranking them as high participants. Immigrants make sacrifices and tough choices to participate in the U.S. Fewer immigrants means a smaller amount of work experiences. It also means fewer ideas for more jobs. Last, Illegal immigration already responds reasonably well to market forces. Immigrants should be allowed to come to the U. S. but not anybody can cross the border just like that. We still need an orderly process, one that includes background checks to insure that terrorists and criminals are not being admitt ed. This proves that not all immigrants should be blocked out of the U. S. some are superior people and complete everything well. With a growing economy and more jobs than our own population can readily absorb, the U. S. will continue to need immigrants. There are too many jobs for Americans only to work. Americans need help with all those jobs and immigrants come to make a living help out. If immigrants are kept out of the U. S. , then everything that has been kept precise for all these years will begin to disintegrate. The fear that has not left the hearts of the American people since September 11th of 2001 is now getting turned onto the immigrants and whether allowing them into the U. S. is a threat. The question â€Å"Is third world immigration a threat to America’s way of life? † is an important question because the answer is no. Although, some immigrants can be dangerous, that is not problematic to the U. S. because they should not be allowed in. Other immigrants come to the U. S. to work and make the economy better. People should begin to appreciate immigrants because without them, the economy would be ruined. Thanks to immigrants, new jobs are made and the economy is in an acceptable condition. Immigrants are proud to work in America and are proud to become Americans.

French Contact and Downfall of Tribes in Early America Essay Example

French Contact and Downfall of Tribes in Early America Essay Example French Contact and Downfall of Tribes in Early America Essay French Contact and Downfall of Tribes in Early America Essay Name: Lecturer: Course: Date: : French Contact and Downfall of Tribes in Early America The face of North America was changing by middle 18th century. The British colonists, officials, and soldiers were from the Atlantic towards the west to cross in the river valley in Ohio. A vast region extending from Florida along the Gulf Coast, and across the desert to the Gulf of California was occupied by the Spanish. On the other hand, the French opted to settle in New France, a location today referred to as Canada. The changes experienced in North America posed major impact to the Native Americans. Expansion by the Europeans led to the displacement of many indigenous tribes with their diseases decimating many people. In particular, the French expressed the best relationship with Native Americans. Nevertheless, their contact eventually led to the downfall of Indian tribes in early American history. However, it is prudent to note that the arrival of firearms and trade relations gave some tribes power, influence, and an opportunity to expand their territories. Both Europeans and some tribes seized the opportunity that came with shifting alliances between and within factions with a view of gaining prestige, expand territory, and settle disputes. In the early 16th century, the Europeans considered native Americans a hindrance to their advancement. By the 17 century, there was a new collection of rivals and allies rose as the existing tensions between Native American tribes and European political battles. One kind of alliance that came between Huron Indians and the French, and this alliance pitted them against the Iroquois Indians and the English (Phelps, 24). The relationship between the French and the Indians dates back to the early 16th century when French trading in fur cultivated good relations between them and the Indians and the Quebec settlers. In this case, the Huron Indians were in need of help to overcome rival Iroquois Indian tribe located in today’s upper New York, a need the French obliged to satisfy. Meanwhile, the British were busy developing trade relations with the Iroquois Indians. According Phelps (31), the consequence of this relationship led to the Iroquois Indians aligning themselves as the extensions of the British. On the other hand, the Huron Indians became fundamental pawns of the French. Tensions were high and the British engaged in warfare with a view of seizing colonial domination of North America. This war is referred to as the French Indian War. France and England had been conflict since the early 17th century. Even though the British eventually won the war, the success came at a hefty price (Anderson, 48). They had incurred a huge debt for war resources that almost led to the destruction of their government. The huge debt left the British with one choice; to alter how it related with its colonies. This ultimately affected the British-colony relations socially, politically, and economically. To take care of its debts, the British decided to impose high taxes on all colonies and none was exempt, including the Iroquois Indians. The French-Indian war led to devastating and long lasting effects for the American Native tribes. The British sought vengeance against all Native Americans that fought in support of the French including the Huron Indians. They did this by cutting off supplies and the instigated mandatory rules that all natives had to follow. With the French now absent, British was the supreme power in North America. The effect of this outcome indeed affected both tribes of Indians, the Iroquois and the Huron. Both and the rest of the native tribes now had to deal with stringent laws and high taxes such as the â€Å"Stamp Act† and â€Å"Sugar Act† (Winsor, 57). With a new power in force in North America, the downfall of many native tribes was imminent. Hefty taxes meant that livelihood was made tough for the Indians. The British were in control of all resources including agricultural products. Stringent rules on cultivation and high taxes meant little income and diet and thus poor health for the Indians. Even though the Indians and the other native tribes were against this new rule, they lacked the strength and resources to stage a revolt. Eventually, the Indians suffered huge casualties. Even though the Indians had gained significant experience in using firearms and military tactics, they chaffed from how they were treated by the British rule (Phelps, 75). Furthermore, the gradual relations with the British led the Indians to assimilating the British culture, and compromising their own in the process. Slowly but surely, the Indians were heading towards downfall. In conclusion, the French contact with the Indians indeed led to the downfall of the Indians as well as the rest of the natives in North America. The French relations with the Indians had a major role to play with their downfall. Competition for control over North America led to the imminent war between the British and the French. The end justified the means with the British emerging victories since they had invested more. However, large debts consequently led to the imposition of high taxes and stringent rules. The Indians and other native tribes were affected adversely. It led to their downfall. Anderson, Fred. The War That Made America: A Short History of the French and Indian War. New York: Viking, 2005. The objective of this project is to increase the awareness level of female members of the community and engage as many people as possible to get tested. The main goal is to increase the current levels of women who are aged 20 and above to get tested. The target group is mainly young women who do not have the test as they usually argue that they are either too young or they are feeling fine. The target group for this project is the youths and young women under the age of 25 years and as a result the methods to be used should involve this group (Boyle, 2003). First, due to the lean budget that has been allocated to this project the methods used shall be more involving and will require a lot of effort by all the parties involved. The first method that this project will use is sensitizing the people through volunteers who will be selected and be chosen by the programs director (Baum and Meredith, 1999). The volunteers will be selected according to their age for the volunteers who will be doing the field work. The volunteers are to go round through the country sensitizing the people on the effects and the symptoms of breast cancer. This program is geared towards sensitization and awareness among the young people and encourages them to get tested as early as possible to get a cancer free population. The other volunteers that will be used in this program is the clinical offic ers and doctors who will be used in the campaigns as we will be having camps that will be used in the testing in every point that the campaign stops. These are the most important volunteers in this campaign as they will be losing and giving their working hours to this project. This project will therefore start by inviting all

How does Robert Grave's The naked and the nude (1957) use concrete Essay

How does Robert Grave's The naked and the nude (1957) use concrete diction in order to draw a distinction between the naked and the nude - Essay Example Nevertheless, the heart of the poem is the controversy between the naked and the nude. The first and probably initial meaning of nakedness is anatomical, as in the following synecdoche: "The Hippocratic eye will see In nakedness, anatomy" (ls. 3-4), but the secret meaning of the term is freedom, absence of shame and ignorance of scorn. Nudity, thus, points to the 'social' meaning of nakedness: "deficiency of dress" (4), prohibited and scorned by most people. The nude should be understood as those blaming and judging the naked with religious or moral values: "They grin a mock-religious grin Of scorn at those of naked skin" (17-18). Another meaning of nakedness is therefore the reception of scorn and hatred, addressed to both nudity and nakedness as indecent. When the person is nude, they feel themselves an anatomical pattern, a body, similar to other human bodies of the same gender, whereas nakedness indicates that each body is a unique and exceptional piece of art, as in the followin g metaphor : "And naked shines the Goddess when She mounts her lion among men" (11-12).

Technology and Social Skills Essay Example for Free

Technology and Social Skills Essay Not long ago people took the time to get to know a person whom he or she had just met. In years past, for a person to claim he or she had a relationship they would invest time in building that relationship. Years ago when people spent time together they paid attention to those they were with, they socialized and interacted with other human beings in a real life environment. The technology today has provided many ways to interact with others via cell phones; computers and PDA’s, just to name a few. With all this technology, it seems as though the true social interaction between people has started to disappear. This technology allows people to interact more but has it made us less sociable? The interaction is taking place in separate rooms, states and even countries, but not together. Is this true interaction? Social interaction is vital to our physical and mental health and it has been proven that maintaining healthy relationships help us to live longer. It is becoming more common for people to socialize via simulated means, internet, texting, and chat rooms to name a few, and ultimately replacing a part of human behavior that is vital for society to function. A second grade teacher of 20 years is shocked when her students do not know what to do when the time comes for recess. AIM, a feature from AOL, encourages the butchering of the English language with abbreviations such as LOL, (lots of laughs), and IDK, (I don’t know). The incentive for going out to make friends has disappeared because of the idea of hundreds of friends on Facebook and MySpace (Knapp, 2008). The dating world has also been completely turned upside-down. Just a couple decades ago chivalrous romance was the way to go about finding a date. Today one would send a friend request on facebook and the prospective date would look at the online profile to see if he or she would be interested. I must admit that I have fallen victim to these new ways of dating and technology but not to the end of chivalry and romance. In due time these ancient ways will be gone as well. Cell phone texting and social networking Web sites such as Facebook help keep today’s teens connected to their peers at all times. A recent national survey of 800 teens and nine focus groups in four United States cities revealed that half of the teens surveyed send 50 or more text messages a day, or 1,500 texts a month. One in three sends more than 100 texts a day, or more than 3,000 texts a month (Gore, 2011). The book â€Å"Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community,† by Robert D. Putnam states that over the past 30 years, nationally, community involvement has declined. In his book Putnam debates that the baby boomers and their children have contributed to this decline. Reasons blamed for this decline has been the growing availability of the Internet and electronic entertainment and gadgets such as IPods, portable computers, and smart phones (Putnam, 2000). Dr. Philip Aspden and Dr. James E. Katz conducted a study that covered several aspects of the internet; the influence on societal infrastructures, and the role the internet had in creating new modes of interaction and communication. Aspden and Katz were unable to find any support to prove that internet activity contributed to any decline in community involvement. In fact, some of the internet users that were interviewed stated they were more involved in social activities than the non-users surveyed. Also found was that 70 percent of internet users had four or more online friendships with 60 percent of this group having met at least one internet friend in person (Blair, 2001). A three year study by sociologist Barry Wellman and Keith Hampton of a social interaction in â€Å"Netville,† a community in Toronto Canada that was one of the first neighborhoods in the world to have broadband internet technology. According to Hampton and Wellman (1999) â€Å"Relationships are rarely maintained through computer-mediated communication alone, but are sustained through a combination of on-and off-line interactions. Despite the ability of the Internet to serve as a global communication technology, much online activity is between people, who live (or work) near each other, In Netville, the local network brought neighbors together to socialize, helped them to arrange in-person gatherings-both as couples and as larger groups (barbecues, etc. facilitated the provision of aid, and enabled the easy exchange of information. The high rate of online activity led to increased local awareness, and high rates of in-person activity. † People today can live in Florida, work in Texas, go to school in Arizona and never leave their house. They can buy a car in their pajamas, attend a meeting halfway around the world and do all their shopping on the Internet. Basically one can do just about anything necessary over the Internet and never see or touch a human being. At times this will be an ideal situation but society is becoming isolated and self absorbed even lonely. Indeed, the fact that people in the United States today claim to be lonelier than prior generations, suggests that although technology has increased interactions it has not created true connections between people. For children raised on the illusion of connection through technology, the danger is that of never understanding how to develop true relationships and to grow up not understanding that without social connections societies easily fall victim to self-interest and fade away. Human Breast Milk Essay -- Health, Human Milk

Introduction Human breast milk is uniquely suited to our biologic needs and remains the best source of nutrition for the human infant (Kunz et al , 1999). It provides the necessary support for the developing immune system (Goldman et al., 1994 ; Garofalo and Goldman, 1999). The powerful anti-infective qualities of breast milk are measured by decreased infant mortality in developing countries where exclusive breastfeeding is the norm (Scariati et al, 1997 ; Ball and Wright, 1999). The human breast milk is composed of about 6% carbohydrates, about 4% fats, about 1% proteins and about 89% water. The composition of human milk is very different than artificial milk or "formula". Most artificial breast milk products use bovine milk as a substrate. The latter has more proteins and less lactose when compared to human milk (Kunz, et al ,1999). Lactose levels correlate well with brain size across species. Given their large brain size, it is not surprising that humans have a higher concentration of lactose in their milk than any other species (Newton, 2004). From the Islamic religion point of view, although it is recommended to prolong adequate lactation for up to two years, Prophet Mohamed pointed that the milk of the pregnant women is harmful for the infants and strongly advised that pregnant mothers should never breastfeed their infants. The aim of this study was to compare milk composition in lactating pregnant and lactating non-pregnant mothers in order to know to what extent could pregnancy affect milk composition, and how this could be reflected on both child development and health. Subjects and Methods I- Subjects This study was carried out on 64 urban healthy lactating females attending the Outpatient... ...urs in the cerebrum and 60% of this tissue is lipid (Newton, 2004). Stopping breastfeeding , should pregnancy occurs, to avoid its adverse effect on the nursed infants may expose them to many hazards as gastroenteritis and malnutritional diseases. And so , it is our responsibility to strongly advice against pregnancy during lactation so that the newly born receives the best nutritional support to ensure its full physical and neurological development. This is what exactly recommended by the Islamic religion to prolong adequate lactation, up to two years, to face infant's requirements and at the same time to avoid pregnancy on top of lactation with its bad effects on both the nursed infant and the fetus. It is hoped that further works will be done to study the effect of pregnancy on other milk constituents that could also possibly affect the nursed infant.

Final Reflection and Pdp

Final Reflection and PDP Background This reflection paper reflects on themy current performance in regards to study skills. during this first seminar in study skills. This and will demonstrate themy awareness of my learning abilities. Where study skills are concerned, With study skills I've realised that its is important to understand, where you stand in the type of learner you are, how each the different learning skills preferred by indivudals enables individual prefers learn to enable pupils to share their learning experience, for example I may not be a auditory learner and someone else may be a visual learner, so we both can share are experiences of the way each person learns. During these past few months, in both lecturesr and seminar sessions, I've been exposed to discovered various learning styles which hashave enabled me to understandfind out exactly what the type of learner I am. I discovered that Tthere are a number of websites which can aidhelp to figure out in ascertaining the type of learner you are. what sort of learner you are. I conducted several researchresearch by looking up on the websites to figure out what type of learner I was, and I found out that I was an auditory learner. An auditory learner, this defines is a person which who learns best by listening. HoweverDuring my time at University, I' have come across varioues students at GSM doing theon my same course, with different forms of learning styles, includingeither a Visual, KinestheticKinaesthetic, Read and Write, and of course an Auditory learners. From my understanding of being aAn independent learner defines, being is an individual who learns and studiesy for him e or herself, making decisions which will benefit them you as an individual and improve their learning needs, and, as student at a higher level form of education, to become most importantly self-motivated. I believe the most important attributesaims to becoming a successful learner and achieving the best toof your ability areis by the following: 1. Motivation By setting your own aims and objectives, as well as being responsible for your own learning and also setting out challenges and meeting goals. 2. Managing Time Managing Learning how to balance your studies with yourto social life is one of the most important strategiesy to becoming an independent learner. tThis is because, althoughdespite as much as everyone enjoys to having e their a social life, there needs to be a balance between an individual’s studies and social life as failing to do so can lead to failure. should be monitored before being distracted by studies and social life, if not this could lead to failure to the course. ( Moreover, to also understand how you learn best can determine how to revise and study for a particular work. )-dnt know what you trying to say. 3. Reflection Developing on your ability to reflect on your progress, through feedback, enables you determines in which you reflect on every feedback given, to sustain you, to improve better your progress within the course. This pushes you to work harder and correctimprove in any errors which had been made. , its It is equally important to keep a record of any kind of feedback or progress from tutors/peers are kept so that as it can inform you the student what stage of progress you are at. During the semester, how I have performed? I believe during Within the topic of study skill this semester, I think I would rate myself average in regardsdue to the way I have performed. during this semester, tThis is because I' have come across some difficulties to in some of the assignments which have been set within theis seminar classes. What changes have you identified? In my last Due to my last assignment I failed to achieve the grade I wished to. In my initial reflection based on the initial reflection, was the first assignment which was set from study skills, and turn out to under achieve a pass, however this has allowed me to I recognised bmy mistakes and errors. This which had been made to enabled me to work on the things which I need to improve on. I learnt that I needed What I have recognised is to work more on my structuring, focusing more on identifying my real weaknesses which I have in order to improve on for the next semesters. ( expand more on this †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦.. ) What I learned so far during the semester? -The things you have improved on -Your weaknesses†¦i. e. how you write, whether you have good time management etc. What parts of learning, study and assignment are causing me difficulties? One particular assignment which has caused me difficulties would be the written report. tThis is mainly because, there was not't any sort of guidelines to help us, structure out our report, which would have been useful to us, and would have to given us some format of what to write. , uUnlike with the other modules, where there are is more support with most of the assignments set and there a re classes which canould be attended to help with any difficulties, which we may and I believe with study skills it is more harsh and more to do with more independent learning and doing it on your own, and using ourare own initiative to see whether we understand what goes on in the real world of business. expand more on this †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦. ) How can I reflect upon what I am learning or doing and so improve what I do? One of the most important elements to achieving success is In order to succeed, one of the most important element is achievement refers to active involvement in your learning. A very important aspect of a Active learning is the ability to reflect on your work and see whether you are I'm answering the questions properly. When reflecting on my work, I need to consider, how to be responsible I feel for my own learning, how good Ito identify, setting achievable goals and how to be as well as being an active learner. I believe I definitely need to work on all of these to improve in all my assignment set. One way I can start of by reflecting upon what I am learning is by first, understanding how I learn. For example, I prefer to learn through listening and by noticing the type of learner I am would determine my motivation towards my studies. thus I can plan my studies based on this. Finally due to your current performance level and development changes, would you make for the next 4 semesters of your course? I have discovered that I need to make changes in regards to my time management. This is because I find myself procrastinating regularly, for example, leaving assignments to the last minute. I have noticed that this does not help as it means that my work is submitted late and not much effort goes into my assignments. To deal with this I have realised that I need to create sub goals, which are easier to complete, in order to get my assignments done earlier. One way in which I would need to developmake changes in, is by finding myself sometimes procrastinating regularly, when leaving assignment to the last minute, really doesn't help in situations like things when submitting work late or not putting that much effort into your assignments. But I've identified that because I don’t chunk assignments into smaller bits and create sub goals, it doesn't allow me to finish on time, but since procrastinating really leads to failure, things has to change through out the rest of the next semesters. The Cold War Era - 1871 Words

After the end of World War II, Europe was in ruins. Between bomb damage, economic downturn, and natural disasters such as droughts and blizzards it seemed nearly impossible to restore Europe to its prior greatness. America facilitated the recovery of Europe with military and financial aid and helped prevent the spread of communism, which is proven to overtake even the strongest countries in times of distress. This aid crushed the Soviet dream of a communist Europe, which set off the Cold War. Over the next 45 years, the United States and the Soviet Union would resemble two angry women, avoiding each other at all costs and exploding into a furious rage at the first sight of the other. Many events contributed to and were derived from the Cold War such as the Truman Doctrine and Marshall Plan, the Civil Rights movement, the Space Race, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Kennedy Assassination, and the hippie movement. Some of the most important questions that could be asked of these events ar e these: of what significance were they to the Cold War and where would the world be today if they had never happened? Lessons learned from the past affect everything about the future, and without these events, America, and even the world, would not be where it is today.
